I have been trying to use Visual Studio Community 2017 on my Mac to program in C++ recently. It appeared to download correctly and I received no errors, however, it appears to be missing support for C++. It will only allow me to use C# and F#, I see no listings for C++ anywhere. Visual Studio for Mac brings industry leading capabilities to you, letting you maximize your potential when developing applications and games targeting mobile and other devices, and the cloud. Some web searches revealed people saying to open up the visual studio installer and add the 'C++ tools.' However, in the visual studio installer, I only see the necessary packages to develop in Android, IOS,.NET, MacOS, and Xamarin. Where is C++? Do I need to configure visual studio some other way to be able to use it for C++? ![]() ![]() Some of the subjects I'll take in college require me to use ASP.NET MVC and Microsoft SQL Server for the class. So I've been looking for alternatives to using Parallels or Bootcamp on my machine because of lack of storage. I was able to setup SQL Server by using Docker and Jetbrain's Datagrip successfully for some time, but I ran into issues with Rider when trying to set it up with Entity Framework to make my database using the code-first approach, so this leaves me with Visual Studio for Mac. I'm not familiar with it and I don't think it has ReSharper support yet, so I'm a little skeptical of how good it might be. Quicken starter edition for mac vs quicken essentials mac.
